Reigning Champion, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz spoke about wanting to back up his win at Roland Garros and join the shortlist of players who have completed the ‘Channel Slam’ where you win Roland Garros and Wimbledon back-to-back!
The Spaniard said he was happy with his game coming into The Championship and that it was even more special returning to the All England Club as Champion.
Despite his result at Queen’s, he said the extra time allowed him to adapt his game, practice and get better and now he feels ready to start the tournament. He’s been reviewing videos of Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic but is also keen to trust his own ability.
He also spoke about how difficult it is to win Grand Slams, especially changing from surfaces, from clay to grass but is excited for the next two weeks!
