Liverpool needs to decide whether to approve Tyler Morton’s temporary departure after Bayer Leverkusen submitted a loan offer for the midfielder.
Morton is valued at approximately £20 million by the Reds and had previously attracted interest from Atalanta and RB Leipzig earlier in the summer.
Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso, a former Liverpool midfielder, is interested in securing Morton on a season-long loan, and Liverpool is currently considering the offer.
Morton made his senior debut for Liverpool nearly three years ago but has spent the last two seasons on loan in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers and Hull City.
The England under-21 international participated in part of Liverpool’s pre-season under new manager Arne Slot and has been training with the first team, but he did not make the matchday squad for the first two Premier League games.
Liverpool has already raised over £60 million this summer from the sales of Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg, and Bobby Clark, with academy graduates Billy Koumetio and Harvey Blair also departing for modest fees.
Several players are expected to leave on loan before Friday’s transfer deadline, with midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, wingers Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon, and left-back Owen Beck among those who have attracted interest.
